The Story of KKL-JNF and of Israel

In Hebrew with English subtitles, this animated film (01:14) tells the story of the founding of KKL-JNF, paralleled with the rise of Zionism and the establishment of the State of Israel. At the First Zionist Congress in 1897, there was a proposal for Jews from around the world to establish a shared fund that would be used to realize the goals of the Zionist movement. At the Fifth Zionist Congress on December 29, 1901, the proposal was approved, and KKL-JNF was founded. The famous «blue box» was a tool that enabled every Jew from around the world to become a partner in the realization of the dream of establishing a home for the Jewish people in the Land of Israel, regardless of how much they were able to contribute.
